Earth Day Clean-Up

The weather was perfect once again for the CVSan’s Earth Day Clean-Up event on Saturday, April 29, 2017.

Over 500 volunteers at twelve Castro Valley schools and five public sites participated in the 15th annual Clean-Up.  Volunteers cleared 50 cubic yards of plant debris to be composted and abated one cubic yard of litter from Castro Valley streets, parks, schools, and creeks.  Volunteers enjoyed free breakfast provided by CVSan, Alameda County Supervisor Nate Miley, and Karin Johnson Specialty Cakes and Pastries.  Other event sponsors included Pete’s ACE Hardware, Hayward Area Recreation and Park District, East Bay Regional Park District, Alameda County Public Works Agency, and Waste Management of Alameda County, Inc.
