The New Plan Rewards Recycling

Castro Valley’s new commercial collection service provides one-stop shopping for garbage, recycling and organics pick-up. It also rewards waste reduction: The more you use the recycling and organics containers, the lower your overall cost.

Two different service levels are available:

Up to 3-cubic-yard bins for garbage: Your collection service includes an equal amount of recycling, built into your garbage rate (“bundled plan”). Containers for organics can be added at a special rate, much below garbage pickup.

More than 3-cubic-yard bins of garbage: Your collection service DOES NOT include recycling, but you can add containers for recycling and organics at special rates, much below garbage pickup.

Based on the assessment you will receive a custom service plan proposal, including service level, cost estimate, and program setup recommendations. All you have to do is sign up!

CVSan offers grant funding to help pay for indoor containers and signage necessary for the proper sorting of materials. We can also help conduct employee trainings.
