Earth Day 2017 - Charitable Organizations

1.    Castro Valley Sports Foundation (CVSF) – CVSF provides charitable assistance and support for sports and athletics in Castro Valley, including sports programs in the Castro Valley Unified School District.  Projects include successfully campaigning for the building of the new state-of-the-art football/track/soccer stadium at Castro Valley High School.  http://www.castrovalleysportsfoundation.org

2.    Dusty Paws Rescue, Inc. – Dusty Paws Rescue, Inc. is an all-volunteer organization whose purpose is to save abandoned, neglected, and/or abused animals by placing them into permanent, safe, stable and caring new homes. The home-based volunteer group in Castro Valley keeps rescued animals in foster care rather than maintaining a permanent housing facility.  Funds donated will go towards the necessary services required for the foster program to get the animals ready for their new forever homes. http://www.fourpawsrescue.net/home.html

3.    Friends of San Lorenzo Creek – Friends of San Lorenzo Creek (FSLC) promotes preservation, protection, and awareness of creeks in the 50 square miles of the San Lorenzo Creek watershed, including Castro Valley creeks. FSLC has coordinated Earth Day events, advocated for creek restoration projects such as the day-lighted creek at the Castro Valley Library, participated in the development of local public policies related to creeks, co-sponsored events such as the school creek-art contest with organizations such Eden Township Health Care District, and worked to develop conservation easements.
