Project objectives: Expand existing kitchen to facilitate an increase in District personnel. Utilize environmentally-preferable building materials and methods to comply with the District’s Mission and Vision Statements.

Project highlights:

• Natural Linoleum Flooring - Marmorette flooring by Armstrong is made from
rapidly renewable resources including linseed oil, sawdust and jute. In addition to the health and environmental benefits, the natural linoleum flooring is economical.

• Recycled Material Countertops – Countertops by Avonite Surfaces contain at least 40% post-industrial recycled material produced during the manufacturing of other Avonite Surfaces products. They are also LEED certified.

• Energy Efficient Appliances - Energy Star appliances conserve energy and contribute to the overall eco-friendliness of this kitchen. If just 10 homes used Energy Star appliances, the change would be like planting 1.7 million new acres of trees.
