Castro Valley Sanitary District’s 12th
Annual Recycled Art Contest
- Create an art piece or reusable item* using materials
that would have otherwise been garbage.
- Complete the registration
form.
- Bring your art piece along with your completed entry
form to Castro Valley Sanitary District (CVSD), 21040 Marshall Street,
Castro Valley, CA 94546 between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., October 6-10,
2008.
- Note: All entrants must live within CSVD. Students
attending schools in CVSD and/or Castro Valley Unified School District
(CVUSD) may also participate. One (1) entry per person; one (1) entry
per class.
- Mark your calendar:
- October 15: Art pieces judged
- October 17: Winners notified
- October 21: Open House & Awards Ceremony
- October 31: Deadline to pick up non-winning art (unclaimed projects
may be recycled)
*Reusable items should have a purpose or function so that they may be
used over and over again.

Cash prizes will be awarded in ten (10) separate
categories:

Second Place: $100
Third Place: $50
Honorable Mention: $25
Best Class Project: $100 per grade category
Best Adult Collaborative Project: $100
Prize winning K-12 students' schools (withing CVSD or CVUSD)
will also receive an equivalent cash award. The District may choose to
display or promote select art pieces in the office or at events for up
to one (1) year. Winning artwork may be photographed for the 2009 CVSD
calendar and/or displayed at the Adobe Art Gallery in Castro Valley. Winners
to provide a photo of themselves (please bring photograph to the Awards
Ceremony).

All artwork must be the sole and original work of
the student or class.

Adult participation must be limited to advice only.

Please be sure that all of the pieces on your artwork
are firmly secured.

Artwork must be able to be moved easily.

CVSD is not responsible for any damage to artwork.
- Artwork to be no larger than 6'x3'x3'.
