Do You Recycle Your Motor Oil?
Oil doesn't wear out...it just gets dirty!

Steps to changing your oil for recycling:

• Drain motor oil into a drain pan.
• Drain your oil filter for 24 hours. It can hold up to a quart of oil!
• Pour your used oil into a Used Oil plastic jug and screw on the lid. Call Waste Management at (510) 537-5500 for replacement jugs.
• Seal your filter in a plastic freezer bag.
• Leave your filled Used Oil jugs (maximum 3 one-gallon jugs per week) and bagged filters curbside next to your recycling, garbage, and greenwaste carts on your regular pick-up day.
  
  
  

  MOTOR OIL FILTER RECYCLING BAGS They’re here! To make it easier to change and recycle your motor oil and filters, Castro Valley Sanitary District (CVSD) is providing complimentary bags for curbside recycling of filters. Simply drain the filter, place 1 in a bag, seal the bag, and set it curbside next to carts on collection day. An empty bag & jug will be left for your next oil change. Drop by CVSD (21040 Marshall Street, Castro Valley, CA 94546) to pick-up a bag or call Waste Management at (510) 537-5500.
