COVID-19 Service Updates

CVSan Suspension of Non-Essential Services extended to Comply with Shelter in Place
To ensure the health and safety of our customers and employees and to limit possible COVID-19 exposure and comply with the most recent shelter-in-place (SIP) order, walk-in services at the Castro Valley Sanitary District (CVSan) office located at 21040 Marshall Street and the CVSan Capital Improvement Projects Office located at 20211 Patio Drive, Suite 200 will continue to be suspended until further notice. CVSan will continue to provide essential wastewater services and will respond to sewer emergencies during the current SIP.
  • Report sewer emergencies to (510) 537-0757 Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. or after hours at (510) 506-5821.
  • Current scheduled collection services for recycling, organics, and garbage provided by Alameda County Industries (ACI) have not been affected. Residential customers should have their containers ready for service between the hours of 6:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

As a California Special District, CVSan is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the sanitary sewer collection system within the unincorporated community of Castro Valley.
