Castro Valley Sanitary District’s (CVSan) Earth Day Clean-Up and Recycles Day events scheduled for Saturday, April 25th have been canceled due to statewide shelter-in-place orders and public health directives calling for the cancellation of large public gatherings to slow the spread of COVID-19.
The following resources are currently available for CVSan’s residents:
- CVSan’s curbside Textile Collection Week is scheduled June 1st to June 5th. Bagged textiles set out by residents on their regular collection day, the first week of June, will be serviced by Alameda County Industries (ACI).
- E-waste options for CVSan residents are available at www.cvsan.org/EWaste.
- Used cooking oil can be placed at the curb in a screw-top plastic bottle that is no taller than 12 inches in height, next to the blue recycling cart for collection by ACI.
- Shredded paper should be collected in a paper bag and can be placed in the green organics cart.
CVSan would like to thank Castro Valley schools, Alameda County Supervisor Nate Miley, Pete’s ACE Hardware, Alameda County Clean Water Program, East Bay Regional Park District, Hayward Area Recreation and Park District, Alameda County Public Works Agency, and Alameda County Industries for their sponsorship and help with preparations to support the 2020 event. We look forward to working with our partners and sponsors again for Earth Day Clean-Up and Recycles Day 2021.
