CVSan’s General Manager (GM) Roland Williams has recently been nominated and successfully elected to serve his fourth consecutive two-year term as President of the Alameda County Chapter of the California Special Districts Association (ACSDA).
The ACSDA was the founding Chapter of the California Special Districts Association (CSDA) in 1990 and began with 12 Member agencies. The CSDA serves as the organization to contact regarding proposed governmental endeavors that might affect these Special Districts who provide to the residents of Alameda County fire protection, hospitals, mosquito abatement, open space, parks, recreation, resource conservation, sanitation, transportation, and water. Today, the ACSDA has a total of 20 Member agencies, four Partner Members, and is actively involved with many partner agencies such as the Alameda County Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCo), East Bay Regional Parks District Park Advisory Committee (EBRPD-PAC), and the East Bay Economic Development Alliance (EBEDA).
Under the guidance of GM Williams’ Presidency and with the assistance of his Executive Assistant serving as the ACSDA Chapter Coordinator, the ACSDA created the website format for which the CSDA modeled a template for all other Chapters to use when designing websites, initiated the allowance of Partner Members to generate revenue for the Chapter, and was recognized by the CSDA for promoting and holding a 2018 Districts Make the Difference Student Video Contest in conjunction with the statewide competition which resulted in a Castro Valley High School student winning a third-place scholarship at the state level.
Also under the guidance of GM Williams’ Presidency and with the assistance of the Chapter Coordinator, the ACSDA was the CSDA’s 2018 Chapter of the Year Award recipient which was submitted by a neighboring Chapter in recognition of the ACSDA’s continued advocacy for education, good governance, and promotion of public outreach of Special Districts.
Congratulations to GM Williams on beginning your fourth consecutive two-year term as President of the ACSDA.
