Prepare for the Rainy Season with a BPS

The rainy season, typically between November and March in Castro Valley, can present many challenges to homeowners. Avoid expensive accidents by preparing your property today and protecting your home! One action that can help is to install a backflow prevention system (BPS).

A BPS
consists of a two-way cleanout and a backflow prevention device (BPD). This prevents sewage from flowing back into a building if there is a blockage in the private sewer lateral or the public sewer main. A CVSan repair permit is required for installation and can be obtained online using CVSan’s permit portal.

If you
have any questions about installing a BPS, contact the CVSan Engineering Department at 510-537- 0757, ex t. 131.
