WHAT ARE TEXTILES?
Items made of natural or artificial fibers and fabrics, such as clothing, towels, linens, bathmats, curtains, etc.
WHAT IS ACCEPTED?
Clothing: Bandanas, Beanies, Blouses, Dresses, Footwear (Shoes, Sandals, Slippers, etc.), Gloves/Mittens, Hats/Caps, Jackets/Coats, Jeans, Leg Warmers, Pants, Scarves, Shawls, Shorts, Skirts, Socks, Sweaters, Sweatpants, Sweatshirts, Swimsuits, Ties, T-Shirts, and Undergarments.
Bedding: Bed Sheets, Blankets, and Pillow Covers.
Floor/Wall: Area Rugs (no larger than 9’x12’), Bathmats, Carpet (no larger than 9’x12’), and Curtains.
Miscellaneous: Stuffed Animals (small to medium size), Towels
WHAT IS NOT ACCEPTED?
No textiles that are wet, moldy, or have human biowaste, blood, toxic chemicals, or motor oil on them. No light-up shoes, light-up clothes, or light-up stuffed animals. No electric blankets. No mattress toppers or pillows.
Customers will not receive a tax-deductible receipt.
WHERE DO THE TEXTILES GO?
Since the textile collection program began in May 2019, textiles have been sent for reuse and recycling to St. Vincent de Paul of Lane County and Recycle for Change. CVSan has a goal of zero waste (90 percent or more diversion from landfill) by the year 2029, and is proud to offer programs like Textile Collection so materials are reused and recycled instead of being sent to landfill.
