Textile Collection

CVSan residents have multiple options for recycling textiles throughout the year.
  1. Textile Collection Week - first full week of June and October each year, see below.
  2. CVSan's Recycles Day - every spring and summer.
  3. Include textiles in your annual Bulky & Reuse Pick-Up.

NEXT TEXTILE COLLECTION WEEK: June 3 – 7, 2024 on your collection day.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE:
Place bags of clean textiles by 6:00 a.m. curbside on your collection day, the week of June 3rd – 7th. Ensure bags are visible to the Alameda County Industries (ACI) driver by placing alongside carts. Do not place bags behind or on top of carts.  Textiles will be collected with a special vehicle that may service your block earlier or later than regular vehicles.

WHERE DO THE TEXTILES GO?

Since the textile collection program began in May 2019, textiles have been sent for reuse and recycling to St. Vincent de Paul of Lane County and Recycle for Change. CVSan has a goal of zero waste (90 percent or more diversion from landfill) by the year 2029, and is proud to offer programs like Textile Collection so materials are reused and recycled instead of being sent to landfill.
