Recycles Day

Recycles Day is Castro Valley Sanitary District’s (CVSan’s) most popular event and is held twice a year. At Recycles Day, residents are invited to drop off various items to be properly recycled or disposed of.

The next CVSan Recycles Day by appointment only will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2021, at Canyon Middle School (19600 Cull Canyon Rd) from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for CVSan residents and businesses only. See below for information on registering for an appointment.

Use the form below to register for an appointment. (Registration form will be available March 29th - April 14th.)

Rules for Registration:
  • Maximum 2 appointments per household or business for Recycle Drop-Off.
  • Maximum 1 appointment per household or business for Compost Pick-Up Only.
  • If you register in excess of these maximums and/or are ineligible to participate, CVSan has the right to cancel any excess appointments at our discretion.
  • You may not register for both a Recycle Drop-Off appointment(s) and Compost Pick-Up Only appointment. You will have the opportunity to also pick-up compost during a Recycle Drop-Off appointment.

Please cancel your appointment if you are no longer able to attend the event so that the appointment can be opened for another customer. If appointments are fully booked at the time that you register, check back later within the registration period to see if an appointment becomes available.

Event Ticket:
Once your registration has been verified, you will be mailed a paper event ticket to the address listed in your registration. Tickets will be mailed after April 12th.

You must present this paper event ticket to event staff to participate in the event. Web or email confirmations will not take the place of a paper event ticket. PLEASE CAREFULLY FOLLOW ALL INSTRUCTIONS ON THE EVENT TICKET.
